The Code for Sustainable Homes is a national standard, which sets the benchmark for the sustainable design and construction of new homes. Having a code rating for new build homes became mandatory from 1 May 2008 and Code Level 3 is required as a minimum for all new self-contained social housing in Northern Ireland.
